Day 17 – 20 mi – PCT mile 347

Start: Silverwood Lake

End: Swarthout Canyon Road

Miles covered: 19 (+1 in town)

PCT mile marker: 347/2652

Highlight: Seeing family at Cajon Pass. I’m incredibly lucky to have so much support from friends and family on this trek. In this case, they drove all the way from Los Angeles (with a puppy!) to bring me Trader Joe’s snacks and to take me to lunch. Thanks again Mike, Debbie, G, and Mom. You’re the best!

Biggest challenge: Avoiding yucca plants while pitching tents. I somehow managed, but Windy looked like a horror movie extra after losing a battle with a plant near his chosen campsite.

More faces in rocks: Rugby player or actor Richard Kind?
