Day 66 – 30 mi – PCT mile 1350

95C95CC3-07A5-4838-98F8-B987BBAE8F58

Start: tentsite at 1320

End: Warner Valley Camp, in Lassen National Park

Miles covered: 30

PCT mile marker: 1350/2652

Highlight: Passing the halfway mark! (Honorable mention: When we crossed the road that goes into Chester, we met a woman named Andrea who was waiting for her family. She gave us nectarines and an enormous apple fritter, fresh from a local bakery.)

Biggest challenge: Staying in a campground on a Saturday night. On weekends, the best campsites are usually taken by people who drove in, and there is often noise until late into the night. Tonight was no exception. (For readers who are not backpackers, we call 9pm “hiker midnight.”)
